Play today’s shared mystery, then continue the town trail: 18 cases across six places, with a saved next case and a mark for every completed place. For free play, open “Choose your own case” on the home page. Longer investigations are optional, in your notebook.
How to play ↗Keep Inkspektor close
If your browser offers “Install app” or “Add to Home Screen”, use that option to make a shortcut to the game. The wording and availability depend on the browser. You can always keep playing in a normal tab.
Pack a case for later
- Open the game while you are online and let it finish loading.
- Reload the game once so its page and files can be saved for offline use.
- Before relying on it on a journey, check that the game opens without a connection.
Offline play uses files already saved by your browser. A page you have never opened may need a connection. Private browsing, storage restrictions or clearing site data can remove cached files.
Where did my progress go?
Check that you are using the same browser, device and website address. The Polish and English domains have separate storage. Private browsing may discard results when you close it, and clearing site data removes local records. There is no account or cloud backup to restore them from.
If a page will not open
Reconnect to the internet and reload the page. If you followed an old or incomplete case link, open a fresh case from the game page. Avoid clearing site data as a first step: that also removes your saved progress.

Is Inkspektor free?
Yes. You can play in your browser for free, with no sign-up.
Is there always exactly one culprit?
Always. The case generator checks every case: exactly one person matches the whole witness report, and every clue is needed to find them.
Can I play if I'm colorblind?
Yes. Clues describe shapes and patterns, never colors. The square only turns to color after you've solved the case.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, on phones, tablets and computers. You can also add Inkspektor to your home screen and play offline.
Do I need an account?
No. Progress, collected evidence and results stay on your device. After the first visit, cached game pages also work offline.
Why does someone else have a different daily case?
The daily case follows the date on your device. Different time zones or an incorrect device date can put two players on different days. Quick cases and longer daily investigations are also different game formats.
Can I move my notebook to another device?
Not automatically. Progress lives in the browser where you played. There is currently no sign-in, cloud sync or supported import/export tool.
Can I stop the little detective moving?
Yes. Use “Pause illustration motion” in the footer or on the Accessibility page. The illustrations also respect your device’s reduced-motion setting.
